Here are even more photos of my evening walk last saturday night. When you look at the light hitting the beach sand you wouldn’t easily believe that the temperature was in fact very wintery. Of course if you actually look at the picture you’ll notice there’s some ice in it too. But you get my point. I’m still amazed about the light. Today was such a lovely day too, unfortunately I didn’t have time to go take some photographs because I had to study microbiology… :/ Not really my piece of cake, but I’ll get through, hopefully.
Enjoy the photos! ^^
Today’s dream quote: “You face the biggest challenge of all: to have the courage to seek your big dream regardless of what anyone says. You are the only person alive who can see your big picture and even you can’t see it all” <3
More pictures from my evening walk a few days back. Please enjoy!
I have said it before and I will say it again; I just LOVE ice. The evening glow hit these ornate-looking ice formations so beautifully! It inspired me to take these abstract photographs C: They kind of have a fairytale feel to them IMO.
A dream quote for today: “You must never stop dreaming. Face reality, yes. But don’t stop with the way things are; dream of things as they ought to be.” <3
I was taking some pictures at sunset yesterday, and I am really satisfied with them. I feel like these are the best pictures in a very long time to say the least. I’ll divide them into a few posts.
The reason why I named the post as I did, is because there was something really magical about the light that day.
It was freezing cold. My fingers got cold even with the gloves on, my knees glazed over from kneeling in the ground, and my eyes teared up because of the wind, and the shear coldness of the air surrounding me.
But when I looked through the camera, and when I look at the pictures now, I feel a unique warmth. I have not altered the colors in the photos at all. There’s no computer added warmth, just the warmth of a winter sun kissing goodbye.
Please enjoy ^^
Stay tuned for more C:
A dream quote for today: “Each new dawn brings another opportunity for our dreams and lives to come together.”
PS. Did you notice the watermark is back! Do you love it? I know I do! ^^
I’ve never been much of a baker, but today being a free day from the university I thought, why not make a cake today. And so I did. I found a recipe from the Internet, (I wonder if anyone ever finds anything somewhere else than the Internet nowadays…) and started the work. I was almost positive that something would go wrong, I’d forget to add something, I’d add something twice, I’d add something at the wrong stage, or if all else succeeded, I’d leave it in the oven for too long. But there was no catastrophe! It turned out just great. I’m so happy, and I really do feel like I deserve a medal for this :D
I might have to go on a diet after eating this though. Over three cups of butter and four cups of sugar in there! :D Not exactly light and refreshing, but on a cold late fall weekend like this you don’t want to be refreshed. You crave something comforting and fulfilling – something like this cake. And doing something by impulse can be very refreshing!
Today’s dream quote: “We come this way but once. We can either tiptoe through life and hope we get to death without being badly bruised or we can live a full, complete life achieving our goals and realizing our wildest dreams.” <3
During my little photography session yesterday a happy (at least in my book) coincidence took place. I kneeled over to take a picture of a lovely Coprinus comatus aka lawyer’s wig mushroom.
It turned out quite well IMO C:
But as I was kneeling and twisting to the bizarest of poses to get the angle I desired, I accidentally pressed the shutter while the camera was pointing to a random spot on the ground.
It’s totally out of focus and all, but it just pleases my eye really much in some unfamiliar way.
The dark brown thing in the lower left corner is actually my hair. I have fairly long dark brown hair and so it was partly touching the ground because of my posture. It somehow fits the picture though. Both the colour and texture seem to blend in. In fact I was thinking about taking more pictures with my hair incorporated to them :D It’s pretty hard though, because I can’t look through the camera, take it to the needed distance and keep my hair on the ground at the same time. But we’ll see, maybe I’ll come up with something. Also, I now feel like if a picture is out of focus it doesn’t mean it’s automatically bad.
I’ve learned a lot!
I’d love to hear your thoughts! ^^
A dream quote for today: “Never underestimate the power of dreams and the influence of the human spirit. We are all the same in this notion: The potential for greatness lives within each of us.” <3
The Autumn is nearing at an end. Winters coming. Yesterday the frost on the grass and the ice on the puddles didn’t melt for the whole day. Today was a bit warmer, but the puddles where still partly frozen. Hrrr.. I had a free day from the university today, so I went to take some photographs. It was only a quick 20 minute session but I still got a few shots I’d like to share with you C: Hope you like them!
If you look very closely you’ll see that the lady in the picture must have thought her outfit through very carefully. A perfect match! Or maybe it was just a coincidence. Either way, I couldn’t pass the opportunity :D
As you can see, most trees have lost nearly all their leaves, unlike the beautiful yellow-leaved trees on the upper picture. And also unlike in the upper picture, it’s mostly not that bright and light anymore. There’s no cheery beauty to this picture, rather a thorn bush like dark beauty.
As many of you regulars remember I love ice! The fact that something so simple can have so many beautiful forms just inspires me every time. I look forward to the air getting even colder so I can take some photographs of it ^^ This picture was taken at a brook which was partly frozen.
